Musical History of MelMuff

If anyone is interested in reading this, I will tell you how I came to luv musicals so much today. I've had a big love for musicals since 1999, ever since I took music theatre class in high school. Before that, I never really knew what the term "musicals" meant. LOL I just thought that they were plays with lots of music in them but I know better now. Some musicals have dialogue and songs in them while others have singing in them non stop. I've been in 6 musicals myself. The first musical that I performed in was "Clowns". I was in grade 8 at the time and it was produce by a teacher so it was nothing big. Then in my last year of high school in 1999/2000, Glen Productions, a small local theatre company, put up posters in my high school looking for people to audition for "Jesus Christ Superstar". I passed the audition and was part of the general chorus and a reporter, where as I got 2 solo lines. Just so I don't have to repeat myself, I was always part of the chorus in all the musicals I did with Glen Productions and I was with them throughout all my college years. My time with them finally ended in early 2004. Anyway, the next musical I performed in was "The Sound of Music" where I was a novice nun or a nun in training. It was neat since I wore a white veil instead of the typical black one. Then the next one that I was in was "Evita" where I was a kid for one song. I got to be front and center holding 2 kids by the hands and being part of their little ensemble. Next was "My Fair Lady" which is one of my fav musicals to watch but not one I would like to be part of again. I didn't really have a fun experience with that one. Lastly was "The Wizard of Oz" where I was an emerald city dancer. I'm not really the dancing type but it was fun to be one. This year Glen Productions is putting on "Oliver" but since I'm away at school, I couldn't join this time around. Oh well! I still plan to be in other musicals in the future. I have also seen two musicals myself back in May 2000 on a music trip in Toronto. I saw "The Lion KIng" and "Mamma Mia" and both of them were good. I luv all the ABBA songs I heard in "Mamma Mia" and I found "The Lion King" to be very colourful. I especially liked the beginning of it with all the animals on stage and the people coming down the aisles holding sticks with birds swirling around on the ends. Both are fantastic musicals.
